“El niño del taco [Boy with Taco]”, 1932

Rivera created only fourteen prints and often used imagery from his murals, which focused on his Mexican heritage and history, political conflict, and the working class.  He chose fragments of his larger paintings and re-worked them in a smaller format, as in El niño del Taco. The image in this lithograph is taken from one of Rivera’s murals from the Secretariat of Public Education. It features a boy eating a taco as a Mexican hairless dog awaits a treat.

This impression is in excellent condition.
