A clearly printed impression from the first edition, signed with her small lettered “early” signature. Leighton produced twelve wood engravings for her most celebrated series, The Farmer’s Year, depicting traditional farming in England. Created during the Great Depression, it is a record of rural life before machines replaced farm labourers.
